Heading towards week 10

It’s been a long couple of weeks. We’ve had some odd patterns of weather here, broiling hot days, followed by torrential rain, then hot again. It’s made for interesting sleeping, the air conditioning unit is helpful, but so noisy I can’t sleep anyway. Just when we’d got off to sleep one night, the cool change had blown in and it was a lovely temperature. Then the heavens opened and we had to scamper out to shut the door and windows as the rain was blowing in.

I’ve only had one good night in the last couple of weeks, but it was a doozy. The pair of us were in bed on Monday night for 8:30, asleep by 9:00. I had to pee, so toddled off to the bathroom and getting back into bed I thought, ‘That was a good night!’ I popped my audio book on and noticed that it was only midnight. Result. I still had nearly six hours sleep to get and I’d woken up refreshed. Waking up properly on Tuesday morning, I was fizzing with energy. I put on two loads of washing, tidied the bedroom, and knocked loads of stuff off my to-do list at work.

The only problem is my morning sickness is now hitting me after lunch and lasting most of the evening, if I watch what I eat, I can manage it. One of the guys at work has told me to hang in there, we’ve only got the rest of this week and next week at work. After that by the time I get back in, I’ll be nearly 13 weeks pregnant and hopefully over the sickness completely.

Next week I get my blood test, it’s just up the road from work so I can just pop up at lunch time. By the time I see my OB again, we’ll have had the scan too. Then we can start getting all official with telling people.
